Licking sticky fingers, Mark reveled in the here-but-gone
sweetness that clung to them. He wiped his hand on his shorts as corny music blared.
His buddies shoved and whispered behind him, but Mark was focused to win. The kid behind the counter traded 3 balls for
his dollar in one practiced swipe. Game
on!
One bounced wide.
His
second ricocheted off two rims, then went out.
Lucky #3 boinked once
– twice -
then circled
the rim before plunking into the water.
Score!
Grinning, Mark chose the swimmer with a tiny black mustache.
Suzie, the future marine biologist,
would love it.

Day #10 is here. We are a third of the way through the August #BlogFlash2012 Challenge. Hard to believe, right?
Follow on Twitter with #BlogFlash2012 or on Facebook. Or even better, join in. I'd love to see your link in the comments. Since I am moving, I will be reading after the 15th, so don't feel unloved if I don't get to it right away.
